Family medicine is about providing continuous care—both physically and emotionally—so that you and your family can enjoy the best possible health. I seek to understand your health concerns within the context of your family, community and day-to-day experience, and offer you solutions that are tailored to your needs and goals. During our appointments, you can expect the utmost professionalism and attention from me while I determine which medicines and lifestyle choices can most effectively improve your health and prevent disease. Regardless of your medical issues, concerns or history, I’m committed to providing the best comprehensive care to patients of all ages.
The practice of family medicine has a rich history that dates back several centuries. Today, the same core principles apply: getting to know families and examining their medical histories allows all of us to work collaboratively as a community to prevent illnesses and improve overall functioning. Here at Integrated Counseling and Wellness, I have several resources available that allow for combining natural medicines, alternative therapies, mental health counseling and western medicines to treat everything from depression to chronic pain to a sinus infection to hyperthyroidism. I provide a comfortable, confidential and supportive environment for you openly express your health concerns and, in return, receive answers that can lead to thorough, holistic healing. With my guidance and expertise, it’s possible to receive the clarification and education needed to make positive changes that can help you recover, heal and experience increased satisfaction and joy.
When you come in for your initial appointment, you can expect a thorough intake of your medical history as well as your family medical history. When we meet, I’ll ask you relevant questions based on that intake and encourage your insights about any current ailments, worries or distress. We’ll also complete a physical examination and blood work. Because I want you to live as consciously and healthily as possible, our treatment course may include solutions that restore both your physical and emotional state. Common lifestyle changes that I recommend to patients include improvements in diet and exercise. Depending on your signs, symptoms and resources, I may also suggest mental health evaluations and counseling. If you’re struggling to manage a chronic health condition, our treatment will focus on helping you achieve results that allow you and your family to relax and live well. If we run into a condition that requires specialized attention, I have a vast repertoire of professionals in my network that I can refer.
Family medicine has given me a broad base of knowledge in diagnosing and treating preventative, acute and chronic illnesses. It also allows me to work with people of all backgrounds and ages. I’ve been a family practice physician for several years and have extensive experience in immunizations, family planning, reproductive health, thyroid management, type two diabetes and hormone management. As a mother of four, I’m very comfortable working with families and teenagers. I, myself, have nursed my children through some very complicated medical issues, including cancer and immune deficiency. These experiences deeply influence the compassion and care I hold for my patients. I know, both personally and professionally, the profound impact quality care can have on individuals and families.
The responsibility to provide the best care possible to each of my clients is not one that I take lightly. If you have an ailment or complaint about your health, we will investigate until we get to the bottom it and find a solution.
